A student on Nescot’s Supported Internship programme continues to make the college proud with his swimming achievements. Conor Macauley-Conway has been adding to his growing medal collection since the start of the year.

Earlier this year, Conor swam in the Isle of Wight Marlins Masters Open Meet, winning six medals - two golds, three silver and 1 bronze. Last month, Conor represented the country with Team GB at the 11th World Down Syndrome Swimming & Artistic Championships in Turkey. He achieved personal bests in the 400m and 800m freestyle and won a bronze medal in the 1500m for his age group (senior men 17-24). Team GB were the overall winners in the swimming category.

Conor, a former full-time student of Nescot, is now a supported intern with the college. He spends the majority of his time in the college working in the Nescot Sports Centre & Gym. This role includes preparing and setting up equipment, customer service, ensuring safety and much more.

Rory Boggett, Sports Centre Manager at Nescot said, “We are pleased to see his hard working and motivating attitude extend into his impressive swimming ability. The whole team at Nescot congratulate Conor on his amazing achievement.”
